Dolmen de Bilgroix ARZON View slideshow Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Home » detail » Dolmen de Bilgroix Mégalithe Covered alley built between 2900 and 2500 BC. The walls supporting the cover slabs are built of dry stone except for the western end of the monument closed by a vertical slab. Access to the eastern end (was) closed by a small slab and an easily removable stone wedge. The floor of the monument was paved with stones. Archaeologists have discovered ceramic vases and flint blades from Touraine there. A system of defensive walls rested on the cairn and barred the point. A post hole presenting a structured blocking testifies to the existence of wooden constructions complementary to the stone walls. The occupation is evidenced by the presence of many grain mills and large food vessels.
