Angélique Rocheteau is a nature lover and passionate artisan who has successfully combined osier cultivation with her creative talents. As an osier grower, she cultivates fine, unbranched, long, flexible and non-brittle osier twigs, ensuring local production and traceability.

Angélique is committed to sustainable practices. She listens to the material and works with the fibers one by one, respecting their unique characteristics. Her creations are endless, combining different materials, techniques and inspirations.

Located in the Gulf of Morbihan

To find Angélique's workshop, take the small country roads that lead to the banks of the Pénerf River, where many oyster farmers raise South Brittany oysters. Angélique is not an oyster farmer but an osier grower, and although the two words sound similar, they are very different.

A Local Business

Angélique has been based in Surzur since 2017, Plougoumelen since 2022 and Vannes since 2023. She welcomes trainees to her Plougoumelen and Vannes sites to learn the art of weaving.

From Cultivation to Creation

Angélique manages the entire production chain, from cultivating the willow trees to weaving everyday objects and creating plant structures.

Sustainable Approach

Angélique prefers to repair an old wicker trunk rather than systematically offering a new one. She believes that objects have a patrimonial and sentimental value that often leads her to offer repairs. This is also part of her zero waste approach: nothing is lost, everything is recovered and repaired.

Education and Transmission

Angélique is passionate about education and transmission. She teaches basketry to individuals and professionals, and her trainees leave with a basket they have woven themselves after just one day. She also works with the educational department of the PNR to raise awareness among children about the natural resources around them.
